Psalm 54

[1] O God, save me by your name,
and vindicate me by your might.
[2] O God, hear my prayer;
give ear to the words of my mouth.
[3] For strangers have risen against me;
ruthless men seek my life;
they do not set God before themselves. Selah
[4] Behold, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life.
[5] He will return the evil to my enemies;
in your faithfulness put an end to them.
[6] With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you;
I will give thanks to your name, O LORD, for it is good.
[7] For he has delivered me from every trouble,
and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies. (ESV)

Psalm 19:7–10

[7] The law of the LORD is perfect,
reviving the soul;
the testimony of the LORD is sure,
making wise the simple;
[8] the precepts of the LORD are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the LORD is pure,
enlightening the eyes;
[9] the fear of the LORD is clean,
enduring forever;
the rules of the LORD are true,
and righteous altogether.
[10] More to be desired are they than gold,
even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey
and drippings of the honeycomb. (ESV)

Prayer of Repentance

Gracious Father, you sent your son to die and rise to new life in order that death might be brought to an end and that we might live a new life in Him. Yet we confess that we too often have chosen to remain captive to doubt and fear and ways that lead to death. By our thoughts, words, and actions, we have scorned your love, diminished the lives of others, and defaced your image in us. Father, forgive us for Jesus’ sake, and enable us by His resurrection power to live no longer for ourselves but for Him who died and rose again for us. Amen.

Benediction

Heavenly Father, You have called us by Your grace and made us Your children. We praise You and thank You for bringing to us this salvation. We ask that You grow us all in the spiritual discipline to pray. That it might not be a burden to us, but that we might joyfully come before You, knowing that You delight in us because of Jesus. Use our prayers to grow our love and faith in Jesus Christ. Use our prayers to glorify You and honor You with all aspects of our life. Use our prayers to bless our neighbors and bring salvation to them. Use our prayers to transform our community. Heavenly Father, make us a people of prayer, that we might be able to proclaim the glories of Your Son Jesus. In His name we pray. Amen.
