Genesis 1:27

²⁷ So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Genesis 9:6–7

[6] “Whoever sheds the blood of man,
by man shall his blood be shed,
for God made man in his own image.
[7] And you, be fruitful and multiply, increase greatly on the earth and multiply in it.” (ESV)

Psalm 106:36–37

[36] They served their idols,
which became a snare to them.
[37] They sacrificed their sons
and their daughters to the demons; (ESV)

Call to Worship

Psalm 43

[1] Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause
against an ungodly peopl
from the deceitful and unjust man
deliver me!
[2] For you are the God in whom I take refuge;
why have you rejected me?
Why do I go about mourning
because of the oppression of the enemy?
[3] Send out your light and your truth;
let them lead me;
let them bring me to your holy hill
and to your dwelling!
[4] Then I will go to the altar of God,
to God my exceeding joy,
and I will praise you with the lyre,
O God, my God.
[5] Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,

Prayer of Repentance

Gracious Father, you sent your son to die and rise to new life in order that death might be brought to an end and that we might live a new life in Him. Yet we confess that we too often have chosen to remain captive to doubt and fear and ways that lead to death. By our thoughts, words, and actions, we have scorned your love, diminished the lives of others, and defaced your image in us. Father, forgive us for Jesus’ sake, and enable us by His resurrection power to live no longer for ourselves but for Him who died and rose again for us. Amen.

Benediction

Heavenly Father, You were pleased to create humanity in Your image and You have given humanity worth, dignity, and value. Lord, You hate the hands that shed innocent blood. The demonic idol of Molech continues to devastate and destroy life throughout our community and country. Our world hates you, hates the family, and hates children. Set your face against these evil ways. Lord, free the people who have been enslaved by the demonic lies of abortion. We ask for your protection and provision for those at Trillium Women’s Center who are offering life in a world full of death. Pour out an abundance of wisdom and resources for them as they seek to preserve life and care for men, women, and children. We pray for the staff, and volunteers, that Your hand of grace may be with them. Where repentance and forgiveness is needed, may they be heralds of good news that Jesus can forgive and restore. Use organizations like Trillium Women’s Center to put an end to abortion in Washington state. We pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen
